Plaka is located in the foothills of the Acropolis and it’s considered one of the oldest neighborhoods of Athens. The most beautiful part of Plaka is certainly the settlement of Anafiotika with pretty Cycladic houses leading to the Acropolis. In close proximity to Plaka and the traditional neighborhoods of Athens, you will find Thissio, a wonderful neighborhood where you can enjoy amazing views of the Acropolis while drinking a coffee at the popular cafes.  Monastiraki is also part of the “Athens Heart,” and famous for its flea market. Viros gorge is 20 km long and is located just outside Kardamili at Messinian Mani and is surrounded by many different signed routes, all of which pass by scenic villages with Byzantine chapels and beautiful stone buildings.
