Well we made the long trip from White River to Joburg and there were a lot of sad faces, it was bitter sweet because nobody wanted to leave Africa, the country that has captured our hearts, was calling at the same time everyone wanted missed their loved ones terribly. Most have made a goal and commitment to come back some day. The ride to Joburg was full of music and anticipation, the flight was on time and flawless.
I can not thank the people who made our trip, the trip of a lifetime enough, Vivienne and Marc Myburgh, Paul Bruce-Brand and Shane Pinear. I don’t know how we would have made the trip a success without your invaluable help.
I would also like to thank the parents again, for loaning us ten impressionable minds that the people of Africa worked and molded like a master sculpture with a piece of clay for the past three weeks. I know that your kids will have an indelible mark on their souls that will last for the rest of their lives. I know the leaders on this trip will never forget the laughs, the humbling experiences, the amazing sights and the fun of watching your kids “first time” experiences.
God give me the strength to change the things I can, the serenity to accept the things I can’t and the wisdom to know the difference.
