This is the beginning of my travel blog but not the beginning of my travels. I have traveled to almost 30 countries and feel like I have some great experiences and ideas that will let others enjoy travel as much as I do. I get asked a lot, “What is your favorite place?” and I have to say that Africa still stands out in my heart as one of my favorites.
There are other places that are absolutely incredible and should be seen before it is too late, the Ecuador govt is trying to decide whether to close the Galapagos Islands, there has been talk by the Peruvian govt about shutting down Machu Picchu. These are two places that are not to be missed. What stands out in my mind as one of the most amazing experiences was standing 20 feet from a silverback gorilla in Uganda, another one of those incredible experiences that may become extinct within our lifetime.
