People want more out of their vacation than just a nice hotel and a few tours. Today they want a deep dive into their interests, spending their vacation learning from their favorite photographer, chef, artist, winemaker or musician are just a few examples. “Today people want to take their vacation time to a new level, enjoying the location and exploring their passions, that is why we are organizing a trip to South Africa in 2020 with a singer-songwriter from Nashville,” says Martin Green with Generation Go Travel in Wilmington. “In the future, we plan to do the same with other types of artists”
- Underground Restaurants and Supper Clubs
These mystical food-fueled gatherings are popping up all over the world. These restaurants or clubs are for people interested in unique culinary experiences. Many times, these take the form of a “pop up dinner” at an unusual location with a guest celebrity chef or they may be a dinner held in the chef’s home. Sometimes you get the menu or location beforehand, others share the menu and location only after your reservation has been confirmed. The beauty of this form of dining is you typically never know what to expect as you join 10-30 strangers to enjoy a culinary adventure. “The demand is so high we keep a list of underground restaurants around the world for our clients” says John Cagle with Generation Go Travel.

The new trend for Boomers and Millennials is the same destination, luxury villas, but for different reasons. In this busy mixed up world Boomers want to get the whole family together for quality time. Millennials want to have fun with friends. Both get a bang for their buck with luxury villas, the cost is a fraction of the same number of rooms in a luxury hotel, they can cook or cater meals, enjoy the private amenities like swimming pools, tennis courts, beaches, hot tubs, etc. Many times, the location of the villa is away from the hustle-bustle of the tourist areas.
